Two children among three killed in Panjgur blast

QUETTA: Three persons, including two children, were killed and 17 others, including five Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, sustained injuries in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Bismillah Chowk in Panjgur on Saturday. Lashkar-e-Balochistan has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Panjgur District Police Officer Jamil Ahmed Zehri told Daily Times that the remote- controlled bomb was planted in a motorcycle, which was parked in Bismillah Chowk of Chetkhan Bazaar.
“Possibly, the FC personnel were targeted in the attack,” he said and added that three persons, including two children, were killed and 17 others, including five FC personnel, sustained injuries.
According to constable Sabir Nawaz, convoy of the FC was doing its routine patrolling. “When the convoy reached Bismillah Chowk, the planted bomb exploded with a big bang,” he explained.
Resultantly, three passers-by, including two children, died on the spot and 17 others, including five FC personnel, received splinter wounds.

The dead and injured were taken to the FC camp situated near Al Yousaf bus stop in Chetkan Bazaar, while some of the injured were referred to the Civil Hospital. Sabir Nawaz said six of the injured were being treated at the hospital.

The deceased were identified as Nasir Ahmed and Mohammad, children, while the adult, an employee of sessions court, was identified as Abdul Khaliq. 

The injured have been identified as Naek Azizullah, Constable Inayatullah, Zameer Ahmed, Riaz Ahmed, Hashim Khan, Sajid, Ahmed, Baqir, Ali, Salam and others.
