ISLAMABAD/ABBOTTABAD: Osama bin Laden had just moved to his bedroom when US commandos stormed his hideout in Abbottabad, the al-Qaida leader's wife has told investigators.
Amal al-Sadah has told officials that she had just moved with her husband to their bedroom and switched off the lights when they heard gunshots.
Before Osama could reach out for his Kalashnikov, the commandos burst in and shot him, she said, reported Dawn. She sustained a bullet injury when trying to resist the US commandos, Amal added.
Pakistan security officials have also revealed that Osama bin Laden may have lived in Pakistan for over seven years, a disclosure that could further anger key ally Washington over the presence of enemy number one in the country.
One of bin Laden's widows told Pakistani investigators that he stayed in a village for nearly two and a half years before moving to the nearby garrison town of Abbottabad, where he was killed on Monday.
