LoC in Poonch district. File PhotoJammu, Sep 29: Despite India's continued demands to Pakistan for steps to curb terrorism and infiltration, yet
another ceasefire violation was reported at the LoC, which seemed to have been aimed at aiding infiltration.

Pak troops resorted to unprovoked firing and showered rockets and mortar bombs on several Indian forward posts along the LoC in Krishnagati sub-sector of Poonch district around 6.30 am on Wednesday, Sep 29 morning, said Brigadier General Staff (BGS), 16 Corps, Brig S Dua.

Dozens of mortars and rockets were fired. However, no harm was caused as they exploded away from the posts.

Noting that "this was clearly an unprovoked act and ceasefire violation", the officer said, "It is a ceasefire violation and was aimed at infiltrating militants into this side of the LoC."

This violation was second incident reported in just a few hours as it took place after over 45 rockets and 40 mortar shells were fired followed by firing from light and medium machine for over 2 hours beginning 11:45 pm on Tuesday, Sep 28 night. (OneIndia News)
