Three killed as militants try to storm police complex in Pakistan
AgenciesPosted: Mon Nov 01 2010, 13:57 hrsPeshawar:Three persons, including two policemen, were killed and 13 others injured when a group of four militants, some of them wearing suicide vests, tried to storm a police complex in northwest Pakistan on Monday.
The militants drove up to the gate of the Police Lines in Swabi town of Khyber-Paktunkhwa province at 9.15 am.
They fired indiscriminately when guards stopped them and one militant blew himself up at the gate, officials said.
Another militant, who too was wearing a suicide vest, was shot dead by policemen.
The two other attackers fled from the scene after they failed in their bid to enter the police complex housing offices and residential quarters.
Police launched a search operation to trace them but were unable to make any arrests.
Two policemen and a civilian who had come to the nearby judicial complex were killed in the attack. (indian express)
