ISLAMABAD, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistani government has remained silent about the ceasefire reportedly announced by Pakistani Taliban in the country on Tuesday. So far there is no official confirmation nor denial about the reports.

Late on Tuesday afternoon nearly all the local media reported by quoting foreign media reports that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan ( TTP) has announced a ceasfire after the peace talks with the Pakistani government.

The reports said that TTP leaders had announced a ceasefire following the peace talks.

The Taliban leaders were also quoted as saying that they had actually stopped the attacks and suicide bombings in the country in order to pave the way for the peace talks with the Pakistani government since October.

Earlier on Tuesday morning the local media reported that Inter- Service Public Relations(ISPR), a mouthpiece of Pakistani army, had denied a Monday report by a foreign media about the peace talks going on between TTP and the Pakistani government.
