Girl who drugged family for love killed by parents

The accused allegedly killed the girl, burnt her body in the night and then immersed her ashes in a nearby river to destroy all evidence of the crime. The parents were arrested on Saturday while the victim's two brothers are on the run.
Police officers investigating the case said that the girl was in a relationship with a 24-year-old youth which her parents and brothers were against and had warned her many times not to meet him.
On the night of January 1, the girl drugged her family members and went out of the house to meet him, a police officer said. She had laced the food with sedative and when the family fell unconscious, she went out of the house.
While the girl was with the youth the family members regained consciousness and found her missing.
A police officer said that when the girl returned home around 1.30 am on Sunday morning she was beaten up by them. The beating was so severe that the girl died on the spot, said the officer.
"The accused tried to destroy the evidence after murdering her. They cremated her in the night in a nearby crematorium and immersed the ashes," a police officer said.
The officer said that as police came to know about the incident through an informer and arrested her parents on Saturday. The police are looking for the missing brothers, he added
