Arrest after man's ear bitten off in a Southport bar

A 20-year-old man is in hospital after his ear was bitten off in a bar in Southport, Merseyside.

Officers were called to Coast Bar, West Street after the victim was attacked just after 0100 BST.

They subsequently arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He is currently in custody waiting to be questioned by detectives.
