BAGHDAD, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Up to 29 people were killed and 111 others were wounded in two car bomb attacks in western and northern Baghdad on Sunday, an Interior Ministry source said.
"The latest reports said that 29 people were killed and 111 others were wounded in the two car bomb attacks in Baghdad," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The two blasts detonated almost simultaneously at about 10:15 a. m. local time (0715 GMT). A booby-trapped car parking near an office of Asiacell mobile company in Baghdad's western neighborhood of Mansour killed 10 people and wounded 58 others, the source said.
Another huge explosion ripped through an area near Addan Square in the Shiite neighborhood of Kadhmiyah in the capital's north, killing 19 people and wounding 53, the ministry source said.
Earlier, the source put the toll at 18 killed and 100 wounded by the two blasts.
Violence and sporadic high-profile attacks are still common in Iraqi cities as part of recent deterioration in security which shaped a setback to the efforts of the Iraqi government to restore normalcy in the country more than six months after violence-torn Iraq held parliamentary elections on March 7.
