World's smallest girl – Jyoti from Maharastra, India

Jyoti Amge is the smallest girl/teenager (of her age) in the world now.  Her height is 1 ft 11 inches (58 cm.) Her age is 14 years now and she weighs 5 Kg. She is very much normal and studies in class 8th in a regular school. Jyoti is from Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Jyoti is affected with Achondroplasia. Achondroplasia is one of several congenital conditions with similar presentations. It occurs as a sporadic mutation or may be inherited as a genetic disorder. A genetic disorder is one caused by abnormalities in genes or chromosomes.

This little angel is treated as a mini celebrity in her place. She aims to work in Bollywood, the world's second large Film Industry after Hollywood.

This daughter of Kishenji and Ranjana Amje, thinks herself very much normal and is not at all worried about her abnormality. Rather she is happy and proud of this. She behaves like other girls of her age to develop a love for jewelry and fashionable outfits.

The news of this tiny girl recalls to our mind the story of' Tom thumb', in which  a cart was seen driven by nobody. But when observed very closely it was found that a small dwarfish boy of human thumb height was  sitting in the ear of one of the horses, driving the cart. In fact he was commanding and the huge first running animals were pulling the cart to his order. It was a fascinating story, but now it has become real as we have got Jyoti.

We at News and Features wish all the best to Jyoti for every constructive aim she keeps.
