Somali pirates have threatened to kill any South Korean sailors they may capture in the future as revenge for the killing of eight pirates by South Korean troops who stormed a hijacked tanker.
Pirates from two bases have been reported as claiming they are moving their hostages inland in case any further rescue attempt is launched.
Somali pirates typically do not harm their hostages, preferring instead to negotiate lucrative ransoms for the release of vessels and their crew.
But the pirates are angry after the South Korean navy successfully rescued all 21 crew onboard a chemical tanker on Friday.
Pirates have told local media until now they have never wanted to harm their hostages, but any South Korean seamen now captured will be killed.
