Reasons Why You Are Tired

Posted by They | June 6th, 2011 |
Reasons Why You Are TiredIt was until recently that I realized how tired I am. The only thing I knew about myself was that I am extremely tired, and because of it I could neither work, nor study. I couldn’t even make myself sleep. It was then that I decided to go deeper and find out the possible reasons why people feel constantly tired. Read on and do your best to follow my health tips –they’ll help you enhance your healthy living.

Too little/not enough sleep – Lack of sleep greatly affects both your healthy living and concentration. Trust me the statement that “adults should get seven to eight hours sleep” is absolutely true.
What to do? To go back to your regular sleep you should firstly stick to a regular sleep schedule. How to do that? Ban your laptop and cell phones; exclude them from your bedroom. But if this doesn’t help, find a doctor to get healthy.

Sleep apnea – (In case you don’t know, sleep apnea is a sleep disorder that is characterized by abnormal breathing pauses.) The problem with sleep apnea is that it stops your breathing and makes you wake up during the night. Nevertheless, you don’t remember about it. And next morning you feel tired and can’t understand the reason, because after all, you have had your eight-hour sleep.

What to do? You have to give up smoking, if you smoke, or lose weight, if you are overweight. At nights your throat muscles are being relaxed and because of that during sleep not enough air flows into your lungs as the airway is being blocked. By the way this can result in loud snoring. CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) is the best solution for everyone who suffer from sleep apnea. It will keep the airway passages open at night, and if you regularly use this device, you’ll be able to maintain healthy living and first of all, healthy sleeping patterns.

Shift work sleep disorder – Our body has an internal clock which can be disrupted because of certain reasons, for example when you are changing time zones. However, working nights can also disrupt your internal clock, and as a result you will feel extremely tired and sleepy when you have to be awake.
What to do? I could advise you to make your room as quiet and dark as possible during the day. It would help you to receive your daily sleep at least during daytime. However, this should be treated individually, so I suggest that you find a doctor and follow the medications and supplements that he prescribes you if you really want to get healthy.

Anemia – Anemia is the main cause of fatigue among most women. Why? The reason is that the loss of menstrual blood causes iron deficiency, while red blood cells are essential for carrying oxygen to the woman’s tissues and organs.

What to do? Consume iron-rich foods (meat, beans, cereal). They can greatly help you.
Dehydration – I am pretty sure you are surprised to hear this. But you can’t imagine for how many times I have felt myself totally exhausted and at the same time striving for water. So I was not surprised to hear that it’s among the causes. The thing is that no matter where you work – out somewhere or at a desk or just sitting in the office (for example, me), you have to always keep in mind the general truth – your body needs water.

What to do? Drink as much water as possible. If you know you are going to have a very important work for two hours, drink at least two cups of water before you start it. This will keep your body cool.
The list of reasons why you are tired doesn’t end with the following points. There are still a number of reasons and health tips, which you will learn in my next post.
