Jammu and Kashmir: 2 militants killed after heavy gunbattle

Security forces on Thursday killed two militants after aseven-hour gunbattle in a village near Srinagar.

The security forces blew up the house in Maloora village, 30 km from Srinagar, after killing the two Jaish-e-Mohammed militants.

The encounter began early morning when the militants took refuge inside the house. The security forces surrounded the house and cordoned off the area.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said such incidents were proof that troublemakers were desperate to disrupt peace in the Kashmir Valley.
