6 years for sex crimes

PENDLETONWeston woman gets nearly 6 years for sex crimes

East Oregonian |

Sara "Sadie" Joen Thompson of Weston will go to prison for almost six years for having sex with two teenage boys.
A judge Wednesday sentenced the 41-year-old Thompson to serve 5 years, 10 months in prison. Last week Thompson pleaded guilty to committing three sex crimes against two male children from the small community north of Pendleton off Highway 11.
Thompson is a mother of three boys, ages 12- 15. Court documents show Thompson’s victims were also younger than 16.
On May 7, a mandatory reporter told Weston Police Department Officer Joshua Henningsen that Thompson may have had sexual contact with two teen boys. Henningsen's investigation revealed that on March 26 Thompson had sexual intercourse with the two male minors. Henningsen arrested Thompson on May 17, and she has been in the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton since.
A Umatilla County Grand Jury indicted Thompson for a number of sex crimes on May 20. Last Wednesday, Nov. 17, Thompson pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse in the second degree for having intercourse with both teens, and one count of luring a minor.
Then Wednesday, Circuit Court Judge Garry Reynolds sentenced Thompson. In addition to the prison time, Reynolds gave Thompson three years of post-prison supervision and required her to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. Thompson also must complete sex offender therapy and counseling as a condition of her post-prison supervision.
