College Student Pays $14,000 Tuition With One-Dollar Bills

University of Colorado–Boulder sophomore Nic Ramos is pissed off that his parents have to spend so much money on his education.

So did he get a job to help pay for it? Apply for scholarships? Drop out and attend a community college? No, the economics major "protested" by paying the $14,309.51 spring semester bill using only single dollar bills and coins.

Ramos (left) spent two days and made several stops at different banks to come up with the correct change, which he presented to the bursar in a duffel bag that weighed 33 pounds. It took three people an hour to count all the cash. Time and energy well spent for all!

"I wanted to give the school a different way to look at tuition," Ramos told The New York Times. With annoyance, we presume.

Keep reading to watch Ramos explain how his dollar-bill stunt made him appreciate his parental cash cows even more. On behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Ramos, we'd like to say: Get a damn job, you mooch.
