Those issuing fatwas are just playing politics: Kaira

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that there are laws present to deal with anyone who insults Islam or the Prophet (PBUH) and those people issuing ‘fatwas’ were only trying to play politics.

Speaking to the media in Lahore on Monday, Kaira said that efforts were being made to improve the security situation in Karachi. He said that the federal government was ready to assist the provincial governments in any way possible.

Kaira said that where it can be said that foreign hands are involved in causing violence in Balochistan, the same can not be confirmed about the situation in Karachi. Kaira said that he was neither denying nor confirming the presence on foreign elements in Karachi’s violence. (dawn.com)
