BERLIN, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- A German company said on Monday that its freight ship seized on Sunday by pirates off the coast of Kenya was released with no crew injured and no ransom paid. The well-designed precaution measures of the 16 members on board combined with the quick actions from German navy and anti- pirate mission Operation Atalanta forced the pirates to leave without asking for ransom, said Beluga Shipping based in Bremen. The crew of ship Beluga Fortune have made a well-prepared checklist to deal with pirates beforehand, said Beluga Shipping. "They sent a distress call reporting the attack, hid themselves in a special built room, stopped the main engine, cut off the fuel supply, disable the bridge and contacted a nearby plane through radio." The plane called a warship which can move to the site of hijacking within a few hours after the attack, forcing the pirates to abandon the ship. At present, Beluga Fortune has resumed its journey from the United Arab Emirates toward South Africa, the company said.
