Mother Teresa

100th anniversary of Mother Teresa's birthday

KOLKATA:  On Thursday, railway minister Mamata Banerjee dedicated a three-coach exhibition train to Mother Teresa on her birth centenary. Christened the Mother Express, the train will travel across the country for the next six months, showcasing her works displayed on panels inside the coaches.

" The government will soon release a commemorative coin to mark the centenary. There will be some other programmes as well. We are proud to be part of the celebrations and are thankful to Missionaries of Charity for providing us with invaluable material for the exhibition. Mother Teresa taught us to fight for the downtrodden, a lesson we should all remember and follow," Mamata said, announcing that the train would remain at Sealdah for three days."
