Sources in the political administration told Daily Times that terrorists detonated a remote control bomb planted in the oil tanker near TD Bazaar in Jamrud. They said the driver and conductor of the tanker were injured in the incident, but were taken into custody by the political administration for interrogation. About 50,000 litres oil caught fire.

The main road remained blocked for more than two hours while the flames melted the high-tension supply line, suspending the power supply to the area for several hours.
