GAZA, May 28 (Xinhua) -- A senior Fatah official on Saturday announced that leaders of Islamic Hamas movement and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party are to meet soon over implementing the reconciliation pact.
Azzam el-Ahmad, chief of Fatah delegation to the dialogue with Hamas, said that the meeting will be held in Cairo to resolve all outstanding issues related to the implementation of the agreement.
The two major Palestinian parties signed in Cairo in early May a reconciliation agreement that ended around four years of internal division.
According to the agreement of reconciliation, the two groups agreed to form a government for holding general elections within one year, reconstructing the Gaza Strip and ending the Israeli blockade.
"The new government will include technocrats who enjoy a good reputation away from factional disputes," said el-Ahmad, "All of us are optimistic to implement the reconciliation agreement."
