KHAR: The outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Saturday claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of 30 teenagers belonging to Bajaur Agency and said its central Shura would decide their fate.
A spokesman for the TTP, Ehsanullah Ehsan, told reporters by phone from an unknown location that the kidnapped teenagers were in their captivity and the TTP Shura would make a decision about their fate. He claimed that the elders and families of the kidnapped boys had raised lashkars in Mamond area of Bajaur Agency and taken part in action against the militants. He said the militants had made prior plans to kidnap the boys and had followed their movements.
The TTP insisted that its Bajaur Agency chapter had organised the kidnapping. However, the civil and military authorities in Bajaur claimed that there were no militants aligned with the TTP.
