The stuff that’s cluttering your garage could become focal points for your garden.

Garden designer Lorene Edwards Forkner shows how in Handmade Garden Projects. The book is filled with ideas for turning unused items and common materials into decorative and functional garden accents.

Old vinyl records, for example, become funky flowers to hang on a garden wall. Bamboo poles become garden edging. Galvanized pipes become a pergola.

Forkner offers ideas for garden paths, plant supports, water features, containers and more.
