BUENOS AIRES, May 18 (Xinhua) -- A small plane with 21 people onboard crashed in Argentina's southern Rio Negro province on Wednesday, and it remains unclear whether there are any survivors, local media reported.
The plane operated by the regional Sol airline was flying from the southern city of Neuquento to Comodoro Rivadavia Wednesday night, an airline official said.
There were no reports on the fate of the 18 passengers and three crew members on the Saab 340 plane.
It sent out a distress signal to the control tower before crashing near Prahuaniyeu in Rio Negro province at around 10 p.m. local time (0100 GMT Thursday).
Rescues were rushing to the scene of the crash. Local people told police that they saw a fireball when the plane crashed.
