Libya plane crash: First picture of miracle boy who was only survivor
Boy, 8, sole survivor of jet horror
A lone child survived when a plane smashed into the ground yesterday, killing the other 103 people on board.
The Airbus A330 crashed just short of the runway at Tripoli, Libya.
Most passengers were tourists from Holland. The 10-year-old Dutch boy who survived is stable in intensive care with several breaks in both legs.
The dark-haired youngster was shown on Libyan TV, apparently conscious. He had a bandaged head and was wearing an oxygen mask with drips in his arm. Staff at the Dutch embassy are trying to identify him. Head of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek said the boy's survival was "truly a miracle".
An airport source said: "The little boy was ejected through the burning fuselage and managed to survive."
