Rawalpindi: The speakers at a seminar held on The solution to the problems of Karachi have said the intervention of Pakistan Army to end the bloodshed and prevailing unrest in Karachi has become essential as the civil government and its functionaries have proved that they are not capable of brining back the peace in Karachi, says a press release.
The seminar was arranged by Pakistan Amn Party here at Amn House, Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi. Pakistan Amn Party Chairman Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan, Pakistan Livestock Research Scientists Association President Dr. Hafiz Mohammad Matie Ullah, Peace Foundation Pakistan General Secretary and former federal minister Prof. Mushtaq Victor, Malik Zahid Awan, Begum Azra Gulzar, Athar Hussain, Shahid Waheed and a large number of PAP workers and others attended the seminar.
Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan said the Pakistan Army was the only ray of hope in prevailing bloodshed in Karachi and political leadership would never dare to harm their vested interests. Only Pakistan Army can take action against elements regardless of their association to bring back the peace in Karachi, he said. He said the political and monetary interests of all stakeholder parties were the main hurdle in maintaining law and order. He also appealed to the people belonging to all sects and areas to help restore law and order in Karachi. He further added that the situation could further worsen if not tackled seriously and Pakistan Army should play its constitutional role to safe the country from emerging dangers. For the sake of greater interest of the country and save precious lives of the citizens, we appeal to the Pak Army to take over law enforcement in the city till the restoration of peace, cleansing of the city from illegitimate arms and weapons which seems beyond control of the government functionaries.
Dr. Hafiz Mohammad Matie Ullah and other speakers strongly condemned killings and acts of violence in Karachi and said the government had failed to establish peace in the city. They said innocent people were being gunned down in all areas by the mischief mongers at their own free will. They demanded of the government to deploy Pakistan Army in Karachi if it wanted to establish peace and save people from falling prey of mischief mongers.
