Carrot was recently declared the new ‘apple’ as it too – if had once in a day, can keep doctors away. It contains rich vitamins and minerals, along with other nutrients.
A leading English daily DNA reported that, “Carrot is good for stomach and gastrointestinal health, which also solves a variety of digestive problems. Carrot is useful in different cases like stomach disorder, peptic ulcers, gastritis, diarrhoea, celiac disease etc,” said Dr Mian Iftikhar, a medical specialist.
It is an excellent source of pro-vitamin A, vitamins C, D, E, K, B1 and B6, biotin, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, organic sodium and some trace minerals, he added.
Carrot juice with spinach and a lemon juice can treat constipation as it cleans bowels.
Carrot soup has been found out to be an effective remedy for diarrhoea as it supplies fluid to combat dehydration and replenishes sodium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulfur and magnesium.
Another physician Dr Syed Hasnain Ali Johar said that, appropriate use of carrot is helpful in fighting obesity, poisoning of the blood, gum disease, insomnia, inflamed kidney, liver, gallbladder, Alzheimer’s disease, colitis, ulcer and painful urination, reported the ‘DNA’.
