Fighting extradition: Shrien Dewani answering his bail at Southmead police station in Bristol last night
A rent boy has been interviewed by police after claiming he had sex with the millionaire accused of plotting to murder his wife on honeymoon.
The 39-year-old prostitute contacted Scotland Yard to allege Shrien Dewani paid him £1,100 in cash to sleep with him three times.
The 16-stone German told officers the sessions took place between September 2009 and April this year in London and the West Midlands.
Dewani strongly denies the claims and said he had never had a homosexual relationship.
His spokesman, Max Clifford, labelled them as ‘ludicrous’ and said there were witnesses who could prove Dewani had not been with the rent boy on any of the occasions they were said to have been together.
Dewani is at his family home near Bristol on £250,000 bail as he fights extradition to South Africa over allegations that he arranged for two hitmen to kill his wife Anni in a staged carjacking a fortnight after the couple married.
Taxi driver Zola Tongo claims the 30-year-old British care home tycoon asked him to hire two assassins to carry out the hit as they drove through an impoverished township outside Cape Town last month.
But friends of Mr Dewani say the allegations are completely at odds with the man they know. The former grammar schoolboy is deeply religious and was general secretary of National Hindu Students Forum during his time at Manchester University.
His family have said he continued to assist the younger generation in maintaining their culture and religion after finishing his studies.
Mr Clifford said: ‘These latest allegations are the kind of rubbish that you get when someone is falsely accused of murder.
‘People see his name in the media and think they can make a quick buck by making up disgraceful lies about his lifestyle.’

A Scotland Yard source confirmed that officers had spoken to the prostitute, who is believed to be from Munich, but only as part of inquiries surrounding the extradition warrant from the South African authorities.
The source added: ‘We are leaving all the investigations to the South Africans.’
Dewani has denied he is gay and said he and his wife had discussed starting a family during their honeymoon.
He said he had been devoted to 28-year-old Mrs Dewani, who he proposed to with a £25,000 diamond ring last year after flying her to Paris in a private jet.

On bail: Shrien Dewani leaves Southmead Police Station, in Bristol, where he must report
His wife’s family have described the couple’s marriage in Mumbai in October as being ‘like a fairytale’.
Tongo was jailed for 18 years, reduced from 25 years, last week after a plea bargain in which he admitted his part in Mrs Dewani’s murder but alleged that her husband had instigated it.
The two alleged gunmen are due to stand trial in Cape Town in February.

Husband ... Shrien Dewani is on bail
He called cops alleging he recognised millionaire care home tycoon Dewani, 30, as a client when he saw him on TV news.
Dewani is suspected of arranging the killing of his stunning wife Anni, 28, in a staged carjacking in South Africa.
He refutes the allegations - and also strenuously denies ever meeting the 16½-stone male prostitute from Munich.

Shot dead ... bride Anni Dewani
COLLECTThe escort alleged to Scotland Yard detectives that Dewani paid him a total of more than £1,100 for three sex sessions between September last year and April.
A dossier of his claims compiled by the Yard's Specialist Crime Directorate will be passed to South African cops probing the murder.
British police were cross-checking information supplied by the man yesterday.
Officers will look for any evidence of contact between him and Dewani.
The male prostitute claims he met the businessman twice in the Midlands and once in West London.
The ex-soldier moved to the UK in 2007 and says he has more than 15 years' experience on the gay scene.
He calls himself The German Master as part of his "specialist" services.
Dewani - who insists he is not gay - says he and his wife of two weeks were blissfully happy after their wedding. (extracts from the report in the sun)
