Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were today arrested by Himachal Pradesh Police from a hideout at Kotla village in Jawali tehsil of Kangra district. The two have been identified as Jameed Ahmad (35) and Ghulam Nabi (25), both residents of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir that borders Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Police said they were hiding in Jawali since November.
Additional Director General of Police, Crime Investigation Department, ID Bhandari, said, “Documentary evidence like ID cards recovered from them show that Jameed Ahmad is a terrorist belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit and was active in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir after being trained in Pakistan. Ghulam Nabi was his associate”.
Bhandari said a pistol and some live bullets were recovered from Jameed Ahmad’s possession. During investigation, Ahmad revealed he had killed two SPOs in Doda district. While a flushing out operation was going on against their militant outfit in Kashmir, both had taken shelter in Kotla village
The police have registered an FIR against Ahmad and Nabi at Jawali Police Station under sections 419, 122 123 and 34 of Indian Penal Code for faking their identities during hiding, sedition and anti-national activities. Sections 25 and 54 of Indian Arms Act have also been applied. The duo had prepared forged identity cards to hide their identities. The police are trying to ascertain the route of entry of these militants into the state, looking at the porous nature of the Doda-Chamba border that is at present manned by Armed Reserve Battalions of Himachal Pradesh Police, while earlier the ITBP was also posted here.
In the past, stray incidents of crossing over of militants from Kashmir through the Doda-Chamba border into Himachal have been reported. The only major incident of killings by them in Himachal was reported on August 2, 1998 when 35 labourers were killed in Kalaban-Satrundi in Chamba.

Mozawala, (ISI suspect), had pictures of targets
=======================================================
MUMBAI: Pictures of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Defence Academy in Lonavla and western naval command headquarters at Colaba were among many recovered of possible targets, from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) suspect Javed Abdul Gafoor Mozawala , who was arrested by the city crime branch last week.
Sources said that Mozawala had told his interrogators that the pictures had been sent to Pakistan through two conduits in that country's high commission in New Delhi. Police stations in those areas have been alerted and told to increase patrolling, and the police are investigating how he got access to vital installations. The crime branch, inves tigating the arrest of Mozawala, has identified four agents— two of them serving in the Pakistani army—with whom he was communicating through the high commission.
TOI had first reported Mozawala's arrest and his connections with the ISI last Thursday. On Wednesday, joint commissioner of police (crime) Himanshu Roy, said at a press conference that they had arrested Mozawala and had seized incriminating documents from him, including pen drives, CDs, jihadi literature, pictures of bridges, dams, railway stations, airport installations , telephone numbers of defence institutions and a terrorism communication manual.
The police said Mozawala had done a recce of at least 25 vital installations nationwide and had passed on the pictures and map details to the two senior high commission officials, who would send them to the ISI.
Security agencies had established the involvement of some Pakistan army officials in investigations into the 26/11 terror attacks. "For the first time, a manual used by Islamic terrorist groups, which was used by them to communicate with each other, and which mentioned ways to divert and mislead investigators, has been found with Mozawala," said Roy.
The police said that a lot of information had been passed on to Pakistan through the high commission officials . On whether the information had been utilized by terrorists or those involved in 26/11, Roy said, "So far we have not found anything in this regard, but investigations are on. More importantly , the police have recovered two certificates of civil aviation from him. We still have not been able to understand the motive of having the certificates .'' Police said Mozawala was in touch with the two officials and had passed on information over three years . "We have informed the Union home minister and ministry of external affairs on the further course of investigations due to the involvement of foreign nationals. There is a lot of information coming out, but due to secrecy and national safety, we can only give you limited information,'' Roy said.
He said Mozawala had officially visited Pakistan twice. Though he claims that he had gone to Pakistan to meet relatives, incriminating documents and other material seized from him show something else, the police believe he may have gone to Pakistan and may have obtained basic arms and ammunition training, additional commissioner Deven Bharti said.
As most information has been passed on to ISI using a chip, the police have called in cyber experts from Nascom and the Kalina forensic laboratory to investigate the hard disk's logs.
