TEHRAN (ISNA)-The world's ruling systems are discriminatory and unfair, said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
"Iran and Germany can work on respect for nations' independence and cooperation based on respect and justice," Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle in Tehran on Saturday.
"The world's ruling regime cannot survive for longtime and there is no bright landscape for improvement of the global conditions," Ahmadinejad added.
"There world needs a new system and regime. Iran and Germany can work on the issue."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran welcome talks with nations and governments seeking cooperation on international issues under respect and justice framework," Iranian President noted.
He also criticized the veto rights of some countries in the UN Security Council, saying that the issue disrespects nations' rights.
The two sides also urged reviewing ruling system of global management and stressed that the UN and its Security Council do not meet needs of nations.
They also underlined cooperation on fighting drugs and terrorism.
"Germany seeks ways to boost bilateral ties with Iran on international scene," Guido Westerwelle said.
"Germany has come to understand that confrontation and disagreement are not solutions, but cooperation and dialogue should replace them," German Foreign Minister added.
He continued his country is calling for a change in the UN and Security Council structures and criticized lack of presence of South American, Asian and African countries in the UN.
"Germany and Iran hold influential position and Germany is seeking maturing ties with Iran."
Guido Westerwelle arrived in Iran on Saturday night for talks with Iranian officials.
