Man allegedly steals bras for his jailed girlfriend, winds up getting arrested

OCALA, Fla. - An Ocala man who wanted to do something special for his girlfriend getting out of jail wound up behind bars after stealing a couple bras for her Tuesday, Ocala.com reports.

Johnnie Brown, 29, was arrested after he was spotted picking up two bras from Walmart around 7:00 p.m.

According to the report, a Walmart loss prevention employee reported that Brown, who was in a motorized wheelchair, had entered the women’s section and picked up one red brassiere and one zebra-stripped brassiere.

Brown, who later said that one of his feet had been amputated, reportedly went to another section of the store and stuffed the bras into his pants.

“She has done so much for me,” Brown said about his jailed girlfriend of three years. “I felt I had to support her.” His girlfriend is set to be released later this month.

Brown reportedly went to the self checkout area and paid for some items, but not the brassieres, which cost $7 and $13.

He was detained by store officials and arrested shortly after.

At the time of his arrest, he had $350 in his pocket, but he said that it was rent money that needed to stretch.

“Times are rough, and sometimes you’ve got to take chances…I messed up, but I ain’t sorry about it,” Brown said.
