While it’s still unclear as to the ultimate rules of New Jersey’s medical marijuana law, and there is dissent among the legislature and activists regarding Governor Christie’s restrictive version of the bill, six legally-sanctioned growers and sellers were announced this week. One of them is the Greenleaf Compassion Center in Montclair. One of two in the northern region of the state, Greenleaf’s Board of Trustees are listed as Joseph Stevens, president, CEO, Jordan A. Matthews and Robert J. Guarino.
The winning centers were selected from 35 applications, and were chosen for their strong financial backing, local zoning board and town government approval. The complete list of winners are: the Breakwater Alternative Treatment Center Corp., in Manalapan; Compassionate Care Centers of America Foundation, in New Brunswick; Compassionate Care Foundation Inc., in Bellmawr; Compassionate Sciences Inc., with a facility planned in Burlington or Camden County; Foundation Harmony in Secaucus; and Greenleaf Compassionate Center in Montclair.
