Dhaka Bangladesh’s High Court will resume a hearing on whether the government can dismiss Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as head of the microfinance bank he founded.

Attorney General Mahbub-e-Alam says the court will sit later Monday to hear more arguments.

Bangladesh’s central bank ordered Yunus out of Grameen Bank last week, saying he was working in violation of the country’s retirement laws. Yunus has said he won’t leave the bank.

A ruling had been scheduled for Sunday but was delayed as lawyers for Yunus made more arguments. The government is to respond Monday.

Yunus’ bank pioneered the concept of microfinance. His work spurred a boom in such lending across the developing world and earned him and the bank the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize.
