A 70-year-old woman, whose house was swept away by giant tidal waves in Japan's devastating earthquake has been found alive and rescued four days after the disaster struck.
Rescuers of the Osaka fire department found the woman still trapped inside her house miles away from its original location in Iwate prefecture in north-western Japan, Kyodo reported.
The agency said the woman was conscious but suffering from hypothermia and was rushed to hospital for treatment, in a rare bit of cheery news for the nation traumatised by the disaster.
