Sister plots man’s murder, hires his ‘trusted friend’ to kill
NEW DELHI: Sibling rivalry turned bloody after a woman plotted the murder of her brother through ahired killer. She contacted her lover - who was also her brother's immediate boss - and the duo paid Rs 50,000 to a hired contractor to murder her brother. The killer has been identified as Shakeel (32) - supposedly one of the deceased's 'most trusted friends'.
Twenty-year-old Shama decided to punish her brother because she was humiliated by his abusive behaviour.
Police said the body of the deceased, Mohammad Salim (25), was found with strangulation marks on the neck, near Gokalpuri on Saturday morning. A case of murder was registered at the Gokalpuri police station.
Salim had gone to a birthday party to Yamuna Vihar on Friday night. "However, he did not return home. His body was recovered from the Brajpuri canal area. His mobile phone and purse were missing,'' said Sanjay Kumar Jain, DCP (northeast). He is survived by his parents, four brothers and a sister.
Enquiries revealed that Salim did not have a good reputation in the area. He was employed with a travel agency owned by a person called Manish (33). We found that he had left the birthday party in Manish's car. Technical surveillance too put Manish under the scanner,'' said Jain.
"Manish initially tried to mislead us but accepted to the crime later. He said that he was having an affair with Shama (20), the sister of Salim. Salim had been involved in criminal activities like attempt to murder and robbery. He used to consume alcohol on a regular basis and behave in an abusive manner with his mother and sister. He also resented Shama's relationship with Manish and threw her out of the house for over two months. Fed up by her brother, she decided to murder him. The duo approached Shakeel who used to operate with Salim and offered him Rs 50,000 to commit the murder,'' said the DCP.
Manish invited the deceased Salim to the party and offered him liquor laced with sleeping pills. Salim lost consciousness after consuming the whiskey yet again inside Manish's van after they had decided to board the van. Manish nd Shakeel took him near Mutafabad and strangulated the victim with the car's clutch wire. Shama was informed about the murder and the body dumped near Ganda Nala. The weapon of offence - the clutch wire, the school cab in which the murder took place and the shirt of the deceased have been recovered.
